    Hiya Gracie

You’ll have to start the process and ask the question to the advisor online. I can’t help with that unfortunately as my circumstances were different when I had to claim. But I see no reason why not, as you need financial help to be able to move forward.

Just go on the .Gov website. Google apply for universal credit and you can do it online. If you have enough to move out initially but unsure if you can sustain the costs, mention this to them. Tell them the emotional and physical effects the situation is having. Council housing is probably the best course of action as it’s the safest and cheapest option, but can take a while, so you may need to try pri ate rent first anyway. But these are all things that can be discussed. Speak to your local council and tell them you will be effectively homeless soon and see how they can help. The help is there, just the cogs can turn slowly unfortunately.

    Hello to you both.

It depends on your financial situation. If you have no funds, or income you’ll have to get in touch with universal credit and let them know your situation so you can arrange whatever benefits you can with them. Also, get in touch with your local council offices and let them know too. You should be able to open some sort of homeless risk case with them if you make them aware you need to move out of the family home.

Councils differ from place to place, but I’m pretty sure they all help in these situations, you just have to approach them, explain your circumstances and see how they can help.
