Get involved

Here are some ideas to get you started – we’ll be adding more over the coming weeks so check back soon!

Gingerbread team building

Decorating a gingerbread house is a great staff activity for morale, fundraising and team bonding!

Bring out your creativity and competitive side by getting involved by decorating gingerbread houses. You can hold your own in-house decorating session, bring in different teams, or you can get together in London with our talented partner.  After decorating your Gingerbread house , you can enjoy tasting your creation, knowing you are supporting single-parent families to thrive!

HR Policy Review

Be a market leading employer – be amongst the first to review your HR policy and practice with the needs of single parents in mind. We’re looking for 6 businesses to pilot our new offer. A Digital Badge for Intranet and website will be available for all who complete to demonstrate your commitment to EDI.

To explore this further, please contact teresa.forgione@gingerbread.org.uk.

Single parent myth-busting presentation

A great way of getting to understand the issues that single parents face is to have a myth busting presentation for your staff. We can deliver virtual training for staff to raise awareness of Gingerbread, drive conversations and mobilise your staff around the Single Parents Day.

Payroll giving

Payroll giving is an easy, tax-effective way of making a regular donation to Gingerbread directly from staff salary. As the donation comes straight from their pre-tax earnings, the government will top up the donation at no cost to your staff.

Payroll giving is an excellent way of demonstrating your business’ commitment to corporate social responsibility. It can boost staff morale and motivation, supporting retention and recruitment. Your staff will appreciate the ease and convenience of direct giving from their pay and by being tax efficient it costs less to give more.  Payroll giving can enhance your charitable giving with little to no effort to your business. And it can help you to monitor the level of charitable giving that your business has helped to achieve.
