As far as I’m aware, you have to return to work when your maternity leave ends(which might not be when maternity pay ends) if you want longer off you’ll have to have it signed off by the doctor. In which case you’ll be entitled to some sort of sick pay. May I ask why it is you don’t want to go back? I ended up being a single Mum with no job and universal credit sorted me out for a while, as I had to be a full time parent for the kids x
