Tell him which 3 weeks u r taking responsibility for. If he hasn’t let u know then he can have the leftovers.

Mine is very tardy too, so I get organized and he has to fit in

Write all arrangements down – email best , so there’s a record of what was agreed when.

Only open his emails twice a week so u can have some time off from his nonsense

It does get better, but u need to distance yourself from him.

I have just booked my first holiday alone with my teens too. Feels daunting but exciting.

We are going to a youth hostel so there will be other young people and adults around to chat with.

Our local Gingerbread group is also organising a trip this year. Does yours?

Yes Birdy, I do.

For me I think it’s a combination of moving to a new (cheaper) area, covid, and we often loose friends when we divorce.

It’s worst evenings and weekends for me

I went thru mediation with my ex-husband and we agreed the terms of our divorce through it.

Topics included split of assets (house, pensions etc) and residence and access of the children, as well as the type of divorce (clean break in our case)

It’s (much) cheaper than going thru solicitors and you get to negotiate with each other, rather than a random judge deciding what happens next. We started off with fairly straightforward topics and worked up to the hardest one (50/50 custody in our case

My advice would be don’t be nervous, but do know what you want and what you’re prepared to accept before you go.
