Our local and digital groups offer single parent families in England and Wales a chance to get together, meet new people and support each other.
Run by single parent volunteers, Gingerbread groups are a safe space for single parents to share the highs and lows of parenting or just to have a cuppa and a chat while your children play. Our digital groups are available 24/7 and there are Zoom meet ups too. All group members are asked to follow our community guidelines.

We ask Group Leads to respond to requests to join a local group within 7 days, it may occasionally take longer.
There isn’t a local group in my area. What can I do?
If there isn’t a local group near you, why not volunteer and Gingerbread can support you to set a group up yourself!
Gingerbread Groups come in all shapes and sizes. Group Leads can choose to organise a range of events and family activities, but the main activity for most groups is simply meeting in the community for a chat over coffee. Each group reflects the needs of local single parents and draws on the strength of the membership. Many single parents tell us how important being part of a group is to them – as it helps them to be part of an active, empowered community along with other single parents and their families.
It’s easy to become a Gingerbread Group Lead and join our growing network of single mums and dads running Gingerbread Groups across the country. To find out more head to our Volunteering page to read the role description and find out how to apply.
