Gingerbread is thrilled to join the Children & Young People’s Mental Health Coalition, a growing group of organisations working together to campaign jointly on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

The Coalition was launched in the House of Lords in March 2010 and is now hosted by Centre for Mental Health.

At any one time, 1 in 6 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health problem, and it is well established that most adolescent and adult mental illness can be traced back to childhood.

The Children & Young People’s Mental Health Coalition’s vision is for all infants, children and young people to grow up in a society that prioritises, invests in, listens and attends to their mental health and wellbeing.

We look forward to working with other like-minded organisations, working towards building a nation where positive mental health is promoted and early intervention practices are in place to secure mentally healthier futures for our children and young people.
