    Hi

How you are feeling is perfectly understandable. I know exactly how you feel with the ‘especially weekends’ bit. I rarely have plans on weekends because my few mam friends are doing family things and it hurts to think my daughter doesn’t get that. Being a single parent IS overwhelming, there’s no denying that. It helps me to think of the positives which are highlighted a lot when other mams complain about their partner’s lack of contributions or lazy attitude. Yes we’re doing it all but at least we know that’s the deal, rather that than a growing resentment!

Im new to gingerbread but feel free to reach out if you want to talk 🙂

Hi, I’ve just joined Gingerbread and was about to make a very similar post! So safe to say it’s really not just you. No advice as I am right there with you but sometimes it helps to know you’re not alone in how you are feeling!

I’m considering switching careers into a lower paid role where I can just work a set number of hours and switch off.

In the meantime, burnout is a justifiable reason to take sick leave. I recently took a month off due to burnout certified by GP. Give yourself some time to get your head above water if you can.
