    Hi Katherine

Thats awful, my wife and I separated in July though I now know she was in touch with someone well before that. She did insist on telling me and that just pushed the knife in deeper. While there is blame on both of our sides for our splitting I’d rather she was not so blunt at times. We were together for almost 20 years and as you say it feels like it meant nothing.

I try to keep occupied through work, I have used relate very good to talk to too.

    Try to stay strong.

    Hi

I saw your post, I live near York, separated in July with 2 children. Trying to adjust to all of this now. It would be good to have a coffee with someone who is in a similar situation.

    Regards

    Peter

You have my sympathy, my wife and I separated in July after almost 20 years, we have 2 children 10 and 15,  we also had drifted apart – I think pressures of work, raising a family and bills etc gets in the way. I have found it a real shock too as I thought we were forever though I probably buried myself in work  – I have had several sessions with a Counsellor who has helped me come to terms that its not all my fault.

I’d recommend Relate as I have managed to get some form of understanding discussing this with them.
