My son goes to a term-time nursery and what i and his father intend on doing is using our annual leave and splitting it accordingly. Your childs dad should look at putting in a flexible working request to allow for his parenting duties. And/or utilise the unpaid parental leave time.
If funds allow, i’ve used an app called Bubble that does help with getting last minute child care if needed
