Fundraising Superheroes 2026

Here are all the fantastic fundraisers, helping to ensure that no single parent has to face life’s challenges alone!

Arman Islam

Whilst working at ICG Arman decided to represent Gingerbread in their annual ‘dragons den’ competition to win a donation to charity. Arman had to prepare a presentation and then pitch to a panel. Thank you for representing Gingerbread and securing a £30,000 donation for Gingerbread!

Dominic Ko

For advocating and championing Gingerbread to be Mishcon de Reya’s trainee fundraising charity of the year. Your support means we’re able to continue to support single-parent families when they need it most.

Ernie Knight

Nomination One:

Ernie is an incredible young man who has now hosted three quizzes to raise money for Gingerbread. He has worked very hard, writing and hosting online quizzes and has a large online following for them. Not bad for a nine-year-old! I am very proud to have supported Ernie by taking part in his quizzes, the most recent being a few weeks ago, and I know that the rest of the community feels the same. Ernie runs his quizzes via his dad Ben Knight’s online quiz company, Smartphonequizknights.co.uk.

Nomination Two:

This child has gone above and beyond running three online quizzes while raising money for yourselves.

Nomination Three:

Ernie has hosted his third online quiz for the Gingerbread family support and has now hit £3000 across 3 different quizzes.

Gordon Baker

Last year Gordon and his daughters Millie and Georgie, supported Gingerbread in memory of his wife Ali. To celebrate the girls’ 21st birthdays they arranged a walk in the beautiful hills and valleys of Wales. Together they’ve raised a substantial amount of vital funds, helping Gingerbread to support more single-parent families.

Jo Cooper

Jo is a single parent and wanted to take on challenge, not only to raise money but also to show how strong and resilient single parents are. She completed the 3 peaks challenge, and said the mountains represented the challenges single parents face everyday.

Jo raised £875.

Par Sahota

Par took on an amazing challenge and completed a 4-day trek across the Sahara Desert. Although Par is not a parent himself, he is close to several incredible single-parent families and has seen first-hand the strength, sacrifices and resilience it takes to do it all on your own – day in, day out.

Par raised an incredible £3500.

The Trainees at Mishcon de Reya

Thank you for taking part in a year of fundraising for Gingerbread. Your goal of £10,000 will enable us to continue supporting single-parent families. Thank you to Dominic, Ralph, Rosie, Ulrikka, Lucie, Megan, Ed, Kira, Justin, Rachel, Helena, Laura, Leah, Molly, Nat, Jennifer, Olivia and Alexandra!

Will Norfolk

Will took on an incredible challenge to cycle 110 miles, from Manchester to Mount Snowdon, on a fixed gear bike, then hiked up the mountain with his bike on his back immediately after.

Will was inspired to fundraise because he heard that the helpline had closed and wanted to do something to help. Having grown up in a single-parent family, he understood the struggles that a single parent face financially and mentally.

Will raised over £2,600.
