Gingerbread CEO transition following successful transformation programme

Posted 8 July 2025

Gingerbread, the leading charity supporting single parents across England and Wales, has announced that Lisa Pearce will be stepping down as Interim Chief Executive on 1 October to take up the role of CEO at Pilotlight, following the completion of her transformation contract at Gingerbread.

During her time at Gingerbread, Lisa has led a comprehensive transformation programme, including the re-focusing of the charity’s strategy, securing multiple new multi-year funding partnerships to deliver its plans, and building strong operational foundations through new digital systems and modern ways of working. Most importantly, under Lisa’s leadership, Gingerbread has renewed its focus on supporting single parents, expanding its reach and impact at a time when it is needed most.

Recruitment for a permanent Chief Executive is well underway, ensuring a seamless transition and continued momentum in delivering Gingerbread’s mission.

Lisa Pearce, Interim CEO, said:

“It has been a privilege to lead Gingerbread through this important period of transformation, strengthening the organisation so it can continue to deliver for single parents across the country. I am confident that the strong foundations we have built will enable Gingerbread to thrive in its next chapter, and I remain deeply committed to its mission.”

Sarah Pinch, Chair of Gingerbread, said:

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Lisa for the outstanding leadership she has shown during her time with us. She has delivered a comprehensive transformation programme with clarity, pace and compassion, ensuring Gingerbread is well-positioned for the future. We wish her every success in her new role and look forward to building on this momentum with our next CEO.”
