Personally think the CMS is useless- every year they quote what he should give and every year it is wrong. They say they look at HMRC records but I know they can’t possibly do this because my ex pays way way more than they are saying he should be paying and he hates paying anything, so I know he should actually be paying me more than he is anyway. Every year I do the appeal with the CMS and they ALWAYS come back with a higher amount than their initial letter suggests he should pay (even though this is still wrong). My solicitor said you can request confirmation of his salary/wages- Im sorry I cant remember what the form is called but I was given this advice free of charge so may be worth asking a solicitor. The information he would have to supply is then legally binding and if he has lied he can get into serious trouble so usually the other parent would tell the truth. Hope this helps.
