Thanks Blodwyn321, it is a challenge to balance while juggling so much. I have just connected with my professional body to get professional guidance and financial advice. I’d be happy to let you know what I find.

Thank also Gingerbread Helen, the benefits calculator is helpful.

Mmmm, that sounds like it may be tough going for you. Everyone’s situation is very different though so maybe you manage well or better than me? I did not understand your angle when are suggest accepting that children are not affordable for everyone? This is not meant to be a divisive post – everyone’s circumstances are uniquely different – I am not judging others who are better or worse off. But trying to navigate through my own set of circumstances. Thanks

Hi, I don’t envy your situation. I have been in similar as my daughter (now 6), was in nursery several years ago. I ended up in debt, and have just about crawled out of that. I am also a keyworker. On reflection, I would have reached out to my organisation (NHS in my case) and looked at any financial support they can provide. Or organisations sometimes have access to ‘staff benefit’ money that you can access to pay back very slowly with little or no interest – that certainly does not solve anything, but may give you a little breathing space until you have found the right way forward – and hopefully that will be without lots of debt like me. Good luck xxx
