    Thank you @skittles, I had offered to do this but I think something to do with the landlord being unable to afford insurance that covers tenants with benefits is the issue. However, knowing it can be done, I will try this again. At what point did you tell the agent you were in receipt of benefits? Was it at the point of viewing the property, or only when you made a rental offer?

    @gnasher82 I have thought about moving to my hometown which is also pretty expensive darn it 🙂 Did you move from city to town as part of becoming a single parent?
