    Hello Mum of 2

    Thanks for sharing your situation

    How are you getting on?

I am experiencing similar (long distance and a child under 3, who is still nursing daily)

I would not say we co-parent. At the moment it is parallel and a lot of guess work

Our child lives with me full time. They see dad one day a week, with this increasing someway, somehow…

I am required to initially propose contact, but I don’t know where to begin when there a many factors to consider, childs needs come first, although as parents we can not agree what these are (court proceedings are ongoing)

    Speak soon

    All the best

    Hi

    Congratulations! Exciting indeed

I’ve been doing some research into this today. I am also looking at a career change. Retraining in teaching or health/social care areas.

I found out that social care (and teaching) is an exception when applying for student loan/grant. The only issue is, the social care route…Student Finance Company does not cover tuition fees for this, as it is seen as an equivilant qualification (as like you, I already have a degree)

    You may also be awarded:

    – Childcare reimbursement 85% (ofsted registered)

    – Parent Learning Grant inc weekly allowance

I’d say defo speak to the institution you are enrolling at. Also try Citizens Advice, Turn2Us and prospects.ac.uk & even debt charities like StepChange

It’s all means tested and based on household income – that’s if you go down the student loan route or need bursaries

    Good luck

    Otherwise search for bursaries, scholarships,
