I am in a similar situation, I have been referred to the local council in Cornwall for a support worker. I have also found a local charity for single parents that might be able to find a volunteer to help with childcare and support. I hope you are able to find similar solutions as I hoped moving from Sweden back to England would afford more of a support network.

    Hej Simone,

Thank you. So sorry to hear you have been struggling too.

My shifts are fixed and it’s full time and unless my shift pattern is amended I am afraid It’s just not viable.

I have put a referral in with the help of the nursery to get assistance from the council with a support worker, maybe this could help you too?

I have also contacted FIS for help towards finding childminders/wraparound care for when my child is ready to start school

Hi, thanks for your reply. Already have nursery in place but am  finding the nature of my shift pattern with its inflexibility to be difficult to maintain longterm. Considering admin roles for a better work life balance.
