DeParticipantYou will be ok, you are strong and already dealing with so much. It really surprises me how badly some men cope with mental health issues in our children. Agree young minds is good as is mind. Hope things improve for you x

DeParticipantThat sums it up really well, ‘always identified as a team’ it’s not just the loss of a partner and co-parent but also a deep seated friendship after 26 years
Thanks will keep peddling as you say

DeParticipantHi I think they do take out their frustrations on the parent they stay with, it is really hard coping with separation and then their difficult behaviour, I have to keep reminding myself of this and try not to take it personally but it really does hurt. Realising you’re not alone in this helps thank you

DeParticipantAgree with the above try and get out even if it’s just for a walk. I’m dreading the time when kids go to their dads completely understand how you feel

DeParticipantYes just had complete strop from teen daughter for telling her to have a drink as not had anything all day, asked what’s wrong nothing I’m fine!
I know it’s fallout from partner telling them other day he has moved in with someone and moved away, and I’ve been very emotional, but she won’t talk about it

DeParticipantReally feel for you, it’s hard dealing with the fallout of a split and behaviour changes in our teens

DeParticipantSo sorry to hear this, can you chat through with someone to get some support or call one of the helplines
May be worth speaking to GP to see if they can refer you for support to help you through this

27 September 2022 at 10:57 pm #101784
DeParticipantIt’s such a difficult time to get through with so many different emotions and thoughts missing them not only as a partner, but as lifetime friend and as co-parent
Here if anyone wants to talk or vent their feelings

DeParticipantThank you
22 September 2022 at 8:25 pm #101619
DeParticipantReally understand how you’re feeling my situation is very similar, been 8 weeks and still reeling trying to figure out how to get through this. Be kind to yourself it’s early days here if you want to chat
21 September 2022 at 7:43 pm #101569
DeParticipantThink that being able to chat online with others going through similar situations will really help, the first couple of weeks are really hard be kind to yourself and chat/vent if you need to
