I have a two year old and work. I now work part-time as she doesn’t sleep well and I couldn’t manage full time working with no sleep anymore when I have no reliable childcare apart from nursery. The only time I don’t have her is when I’m in work and my job is demanding. Finances are really tough atm so we are pretty isolated as there isn’t far any of us can go which doesn’t cost money with this weather and being at home is hard work as she wants my constant attention and I can’t get things done easily. I feel so isolated so being with your child all the time must be really tough as I work part time and feel like this.

Thankyou ladies for sharing your experiences. Knowing I’m not the only one sticking to my guns about staying in the family home for my child’s sake is making me feel less lonely. I have had people make out I’m being selfish for not selling but the rental market is hardly available, so expensive and does not offer any stability and I can’t get a mortgage in my own right because of my childcare responsibilities and the impact on my wages.

That sounds so tough having to give up work. I am hoping it doesn’t come to that as I find I feel more positive on work days. I love spending time with my baby but not getting any response back and pretty much talking to myself all day every day, on my own every night and working from home is so lonely. I’m a very sociable person but like you with a child who has additional needs it’s so isolating as I can’t easily get childcare and I get zero time to myself

I’m new on here and already feel less alone.
I am the same as you busy bee where I’m trying to balance work, a baby, a nasty divorce, my lo gas health issues and a house that’s falling apart.

we have to keep going but I find this weather is not helping at all with the loneliness.

My husband has left and I have a two year old and like you I’m dreading what I’m referring to as the C word 🙈🤣.

I just wanted to message to say you’re not alone in this.
