    Hi Tracy72,

Sending you much love. I think that separation is a massive shock to the system, especially when unexpected.

Have you thought about counselling? It can be helpful to have a reliable, confidential space to let out those feelings that you have to keep in around your kids and colleague. Just being able to let out the hurt with a supportive listener might help you to gradually take small steps towards a new life.

    You are not alone.

    Hi @Sunny44

I hear you. It can feel so lonely. Sometimes couples are not so happy as they appear.

Is there a local Gingerbread group in your area? Are there interests you might explore, just to meet some new people?

    Wishing you well.

    Hi @Thisisme.

Thanks. I’ve been trying to do that but it’s hard whilst my child’s sleep is disrupted  so by the time she goes to bed, I’m wiped out! Yes, one day at a time and trying to plan in stuff to look forward to along the way.

    Hello.

I’m very newly separated so just trying to weather the storm of my only child’s complete devastation and trying to establish a new routine and life.

Also hoping to try to make some new connections with people who have been through similar.

How did others get through the first 6 months?
