I am in the same situation , I am entitled to benefits, however , estate agents and landlords won’t accept someone with universal credit . When I contacted citizen advice , etc they told me about what entitled to but no one has been able to answer your question which is exactly my question.

Hi Summer78, I can completely relate to your situation as I’m on the same boat . Feel free to pm me if you want to chat. I have been searching information regarding benefits as my earnings from my job are not enough for renting a flat for me and my son.

I am in the same position as you , so I can relate . I have been told by the Gingerbread helpline and I have checked myself , as I am working part time I could get help from universal credit to pay my rent, as my salary it is not enough to cover all the housing costs. I guess , the tricky part would be to find a landlord who is happy to let their property to someone claiming benefits but hopefully I’m wrong !
Please , ring the gingerbread helpline , they are indeed very helpful . All the best !
