Single Parent Group Delivery Partner

Will you support the single parents in your organisation?

At Gingerbread, we have a wealth of expertise in supporting single parents, both in the workplace and in the wider community. We’d love to share it with you.

We work with organisations from all sectors, helping them to set up and run their own single-parent group. We can offer your organisation a tailored package of coaching, one-to-one and peer support, completely free of charge.

Why does my organisation need a single-parent group?

The benefits of running a single-parent group in your workplace or organisation are:

  • Increased wellbeing of your single-parent staff and service users
  • Professional development opportunities, including leadership and facilitation
  • A partnership with Gingerbread
  • Improved workforce / student retention, and also increased participation and engagement

Gingerbread will work in partnership with you to co-produce a group model that fits your organisation. We offer on-going support throughout the initial set-up, and thereafter you will be offered coaching and peer support opportunities, with a one-to-one support session available every 4 months.

Why are Gingerbread groups so important for single parents?

A Gingerbread group aims to improve the wellbeing of single parents, through developing meaningful connections, friendships and shared experiences.  Joining a Gingerbread group also gives single parents access to our online community, with digital support groups, information and resources around work, finances, wellbeing and much more.

Which other organisations run their own Gingerbread group?

We’re already supporting businesses, family hubs, universities and public sector organisations to run their own groups for single parents.  We currently work in partnership with organisations such as Newcastle University, Domestic and General, Delapre Abbey and Gateshead Family Hub.

‘I like being able to quickly post a question or have a little rant … and know that I will get support from other single parents. I like the meet-ups and the friends I have made. I enjoyed and found useful the online mental health workshop I attended. ‘

What does a group lead do?

Gingerbread groups are coordinated on a day-to-day basis by a volunteer group lead. Group leads do a vital job, ensuring that single parents have the space to build a community, share coping strategies and build lasting connections.
