Over the past 12 months, we’ve been listening to single parents and learning what support makes the biggest difference.
Through our wellbeing workshops, we’ve seen first-hand how valuable it can be to have practical, expert-led sessions that help single parents build confidence, reduce feelings of isolation and develop skills they can use in everyday life. More than 170 single parents have taken part in our workshops over the last year, with 76% reporting an improvement in their wellbeing after attending.
Those insights have helped shape the next step in our support offer, we’re excited to introduce the Resilient Living Programme.
The Resilient Living Programme is a new series of free workshops designed to give single parents practical tools, expert guidance and a supportive space to build confidence, resilience and stability.
We know that wellbeing isn’t just about mental health. Financial pressures, employment, caring responsibilities and emotional wellbeing are all connected, and together they shape how we cope with everyday life. That’s why the programme brings together three key themes:
Wellbeing
Our wellbeing sessions focus on emotional resilience, self-compassion and practical strategies to help manage stress, anxiety and overwhelm. Using trauma-informed approaches where appropriate, participants will explore practical tools that support emotional wellbeing and help them navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence.
Money
Managing finances can be one of the biggest sources of stress for single-parent families. Our money workshops will provide practical advice and skills to help single parents build confidence in managing household finances, budgeting, planning for the future and making informed financial decisions.
Work
Whether you’re looking to return to work, change careers or simply feel more confident about your next steps, our employability workshops will help single parents recognise their strengths, develop practical skills and understand their rights at work as a parent.
Designed to fit around family life
We know that every single parent’s circumstances are different, which is why flexibility has been built into every aspect of the programme.
Each workshop is delivered by an external expert with specialist knowledge in their field, ensuring single parents receive high quality, practical and relevant support. Sessions are fully remote, making them easy to join from home, and every workshop is recorded so you can watch it back or catch up if you’re unable to attend live. Workshops are also designed as stand-alone sessions, so you can join the topics that matter most to you without needing to attend every session.
By bringing together expert-led support on money, work and wellbeing, the Resilient Living Programme reflects the realities of single-parent life and offers practical tools that can help build greater confidence, stability and resilience.
