Lots of parents share the care of their children after separation or divorce (for example alternating weeks, 2-3 days a week). However, very little UK research has been done which looks at family relationships and child wellbeing in different post-separation child arrangements, particularly those made outside the court. Findings from the study will inform how families can best be supported in policy and practice.
Dr Sarah Foley and her team have already spoken to more than 50 families about their experiences, and they are looking to interview another 50.
As a thank you for your time, parents and children will receive a gift voucher. Participation is confidential and does not require all family members to take part.
Gingerbread Head of Communications and External Affairs says:
“We’re pleased to share this survey with our single-parent audience, to help increase understanding of how co-parenting works in practice.”
