Gingerbread, with the support of Sport England, is working with selected leisure trusts around the country to explore how we can support more single parent families to take part in sport and leisure activities.
To get us started, we want to hear about your participation in sport and physical activity and that of your children’s. Maybe you do none (and that’s okay!) or maybe you’re trying to do more but are met with barriers out of your control stopping you from doing the activities you want. Whatever your thoughts and approach to sport and physical activity, we want to know about them! It’ll not only help us get a deeper understanding of the needs of single parent families in this area but it will help us make the case to sport and leisure centres on the importance of catering for single parent families.
Last year, we launched the ‘We are the 1 in 4’ campaign, calling for single parents to be fairly represented and treated equally in society. During that campaign, single parents told us they wanted us to do more in this area. This survey is us kicking off our work in this area to think about what longer-term access to sport looks like for single parents and their families.
Take our survey now and help shape the future of sport and physical activity for single parent families.
To say thank you for completing the survey, you will have the chance to enter our prize draw to win one of two £50 Love2Shop vouchers.
