Hi, I have 2 girls, aged 11 (so many questions I can barely keep up) & 7 (boundaries pushed so far I can barely see them any more!)

Welcome to the forum; someone will always understand how you’re feeling. 😊

Same here, don’t know if my most local group’s still running but heard nothing since contacting 2+ months ago.
    Whereabouts are you?

I have them all the time since he’s been out of work.

When he was working he had them alternate weekends Friday-Sunday evening & saw them 1-3 evenings a week depending on work.

They won’t go to her house though, so whether he’ll be able to keep having them overnight at all is questionable.

Wow, that wasn’t what I expected when I put your quote into inverted commas…! Apologies for the ginormous wink emoji it copied & enlarged! 😂

If my eldest hadn’t just started secondary I would! 😂

Wish you lived closer to me, would suit me perfectly. So would imagine there will be people near you it would also suit.

Advertise with costs on local Facebook groups? Library/Children’s Centre information boards?

I have amazing friends but they have their own families so I often feel I’m intruding, or they’re busy when I’m at my loneliest & saddest.

I know how you feel. The only differences are my husband’s moved quickly on to a mutual ‘friend’, which in his eyes makes it ok as the children already know her. But in their eyes this makes it worse, & they refuse to see her or go to her house, which means he now rarely sees them as he’s just lost his job so can’t afford to drive down here (over an hour each way) to see them or do school runs etc.

Apparently it gets better. I’m hoping this is true. In the meantime, vent to good friends when you need to; mine are keeping me going.

Youngest into Year 3, eldest into Year 7. A bit unsettled as ex hasn’t been well so have had to work out school runs & getting to work myself. Luckily survived thanks to a good friend’s help.

Now dreading a weekend with the girls & no particular plans as everyone’s busy. 😕 Hope you have a good one.

Yes, completely understand where you’re coming from. Can’t imagine ever meeting anyone who’d want to be with me now. Friends tell me I’ll find someone when I’m ready; I’m not so sure & am already dreading the day my girls move out (at least 11 years away for my youngest!)

    The loneliness is horrible. x
