Evening all, I’m new to this site, but have been a single parent all of my son’s life (15 years). He has no contact at all with his Dad.
I’ve recently had some worrying symptoms and am being referred for an urgent cancer check.
I’m scared that if I do have cancer and end up losing the battle, what will happen to my boy? Both my parents passed away 2 years ago and neither of my sister’s seem very forthcoming with the offer of help 😭
So sorry you are going through such a difficult & worrying time. Will be praying for a good result. Try to keep in your mind that it might be that the symptoms are caused by something other than cancer & that it is good you are being checked out promptly so that you can get the best possible treatment. Take lots of care x
Thank you for posting on our forum. You have raised a question that many single parents face. I’m sure there will be other parents here who have been in a similar position. Hopefully it won’t be long before they make contact with you.
You could always try and speak with an adviser on the Macmillan helpline. They should be able to help you to explore what options you have.
