My kids 15,12,and 3 huff and **** and don’t think they should have to help with household chores. I’m new to single parenting about a month now. I work full time and after an exhausting day I had nothing left. Totally wiped. I asked my kids to help clean up…and having to get over the hurdle of why they should help…but its boring…I broke and just cried.

I feel awful and can’t keep up.

It’s exhausting sometimes. My little ones are 4 and 6 and I get them to tidy up their mess as much as possible. Especially when I’ve been at work but as it’s part time it’s not as hard as you. Would they be agreeable to a family meeting even if it was just to discus help with little chores. My older kids never made much mess at all so never felt the need to get them doing chores but it doesn’t hurt and will help them in the long run.

Yeah I could give it a try, a little help goes a long way..I really don’t ask them to do much… explaining things first would be good..I guess I forget that they are going through a life change too
