I’m a bit of an odd statistic, even nowadays. A single Dad, age almost 56, with a daughter almost nine. And pretty much penniless.
I won’t go into “my story” unless anyone asks – I’m just posting this to let *all* of you know that single parenthood is a tunnel, but there IS a light at the end of it.
Whatever struggles you have, however hard things might be, and whatever desperate situation you might be in – there is help.
There are kind, decent, professional people literally waiting for you to call. The Citizens Advice Bureau, Child Maintenance Service, Universal Tax Credits, charities, local childcare, help groups. Pretty much everything you need is on your doorstep. You just need to open that door.
We’re not failures. We’re survivors.
Don’t be too proud or too ashamed to reach out.
God bless you all.
