So I don’t know where to go and I’m feeling hopeless.

My baby is 7 months old, and her father disappeared when I told him I was pregnant. Never heard or seen him since then. He told me he didn’t want to be involve and I respect that he wasn’t ready to be a parent.

My family encouraged me to apply for Child Maintenance Service which I did in April. (Child was 3 months) and they managed to contact the dad in May. I asked for collect and pay and when they contacted him he said he’d do direct pay. I got a text from CMS that I’d get the first payment in July and came July I didn’t receive anything so I called them and they said there was a technical error and they didn’t send the father a letter of when he has to pay and they told me to expect payment in the next 2 weeks. Nothing. August came and still nothing, so I called them to change the service to collect and pay. September- still nothing.
I am £3,000 in debt. And my parents sometimes would offer to buy my child’s formula milk because I couldn’t afford it since I have to pay rent & bills and other needs for my child.

I’m tired of calling CMS up for help, I have no contact with the father- he has blocked me from social media. So there’s no way to contact him whatsoever to get child maintenance.

What can I do at this point? please help!

Hey love sorry to bring thd bad news but don’t expect child maintenance to handle this matter quickly it took them 2 years, a liability order, which they only issue when the unpaid amount hits 500, and my case to be handed to bailiffs to get money out of my sons father.

I’d maybe suggest seeing if there’s a Way to write of the debts you are in or maybe borrow from family I know it’s not ideal I’ve been there hun.
