I’m hoping someone can help me!
My ex-partner and I both pay for childcare 50/50. We are currently using the tax-free childcare service as we were using it together before we split up and it just seemed the easiest thing to do to keep it going when we split up.
This is great for him, but for me I’m missing out on claiming tax credits because we’ve been informed that you cannot use both services for one child. I spoke last week to Citizens Advice who said that actually, we could use both service – He can use tax-free childcare to pay for his half, and I claim tax credits for my part.
Does anyone know which is right?! I work full time and frustratingly every month I’m really struggling to get through the month, so a little extra help would be useful but don’t want to get in trouble!
