Hello everyone, Need some advice please. After being made redundant last October without pay I applied for benefits until I found a new job in December. I claimed my reduncency/unpaid wages from the government and received a payment beginning of Jan. However, UC have informed me that because of this payment I now have surplus Earnings of £1600 added to my account which will go against further claims of UC. My issue is I’m about to go on maternity leave in three weeks, no savings and the money I received went to all the debt I was in whilst I had no income. UC say these surplus Earnings will go against my new claim, does that mean I’ll get nothing?
