hi, im a single mum with 2 kids. One 7y old and a 3 month old baby… after 9y together my ex partner decided to leave me and go back to our country,  so is just me and my children.  I don’t have anyone that can help me with them . I would like to know what can i do after maternity since I have no where to leave my kids and can’t afford living without money … is there anything I can do? I know that some single mums are stay at home mums just don’t know how that works !!! I’m currently in maternity leave and getting universal credit as well

I went back to work part time when my child was 10 months old. HMRC helped by giving money towards childcare, registered child minders   nanny etc… It was difficult but I was able to keep my child and get working tax credits. My child is 5 years old and we use childcare during the holidays. It is brilliant and the fact that she is getting bigger and has lots of activities to go to has made my life easy with the loving child carers that looked after her. You can find a Registered child minder that can take of them and pick your kids up after school.
