Hi,    I came out of a 20 year relationship a year ago,  it’s now just my 9 year old daughter and I.     Last month I decided to try dating again… so scary.  I have however now met someone that I like, he lives  in another town so only get to see him  once a week.. a friend recently said to me to be careful as I’m claiming UC and that they will stop payments if they find out?   I’m  certainly not planning on moving him I’m so how can they stop my payments?

Any advice please would be appreciated

    thanks

He is not registered at your address nor is he paying your bills. You should not tell your friend your business before she reports you!

No he is not registered or paying any bills at my house.   My friend was just worried for me and wanted me to be careful.  I can’t see how my UC payments would stop if he’s not living here?.. it’s a very new relationship so would certainly not be moving in anytime soon!

Unless he is living with you or supporting you financially there is no risk to your UC claim. Your friend has misinformed you.
