Lots of Yorkshire ladies then 🙂
Heres a little about me…
I’ve got a beautiful 4 year old boy, who sees his dad every other weekend for 4 nights. We split 3 years ago and I have had a relationship since but didn’t work out.
Considering his fathers actions we have quite an amicable relationship.
I work full time which is hard as have to rely heavily on paid childcare and week day evenings are hetic to say the least with having to squeeze everything in before bedtime.
Looking to meet people who understand the difficulties of solo parenting but also the rewards it brings, share experiences, advice and just make new friends.5 April 2018 at 7:48 pm #9686
Im in a similar situation, my daughter is 6 and although a me and a friend split school pick ups so we can both work, I rely heavily on paid childcare during school holidays. Not really what I want to save up all term for lol. A few single parent friends would be brill I must admit, I have none lol.5 April 2018 at 8:44 pm #9690
Hi Sparkie, I have one but lives 3 hours away and difficult to arrange time together.
I don’t know about you but I feel so awful putting my boy in to childcare for school holidays when I think he should be doing fun stuff with me. I only get 22 holidays a year and the summer holiday we have booked takes up 12 of them holidays alone then have save holidays for when he is poorly (had to use 3 so far with illnesss and school closure due to snow) as can’t rely on his dad to take time off work and also lives 3 hours away x5 April 2018 at 9:03 pm #9692
With you there, it’s not that she doesn’t like going to the childminder but she wants to be with me and I feel bad for not being able to have more time with her in holidays like I did when her dad was around. This week hasn’t gone the way we’d planned for a few reasons and she had a bit of a melt down bless her, but I’ve managed to rearrange my hours to get a few days off, so that’ll hopefully do the trick.
Yeah, using holiday days for the things you can’t control sucks doesn’t it lol, be nice if there was another option other than not being paid!5 April 2018 at 9:10 pm #9693
Unfortunately with only one wage coming in, not being paid is no longer an option 😞
Im glad you managed to get a few days off, hopefully the weather stays nice for you both.
I’ve got the weekend to myself this weekend as it’s his dads weekend so off out for a few drinks and pretend to be an adult for a bit.5 April 2018 at 10:42 pm #9695
Here is a little about myself.I am a single dad living with my 6 year old girl.I live with her full time.I had a suggestion that since we are quite a lot of us west Yorkshire and south Yorkshire that if possible we can arrange and meet up together with our kids and have a chat as a group. We can organise and meet at children indoor play centre or any function that suits us and kids so we get to know each other better since our local gingergroup is not active.I have 2 other single dads both with girls of 7 years of age full custody and both west Yorkshire.I know two single mums both west Yorkshire and would be interested to join.
