I was just wondering if there are any other single mum caravaners out there? Maybe just lacking the confidence to hook up solo after separation? Or lacking touring companion like me? I prefer to camp with some company but most of my friends have ditched their tourers over the last few years! It would interesting to meet other mums (possibly dads) in the same situation

If you ditch the van and get a tent…

see you in Cumbria or Scotland in the summer 👍

Haha, I’ve got a tent as well! We regularly go to the lakes, I dragged the kids up their first mountain (if you can call Lattrigg a mountain?) last summer, the youngest is only 6yo. I’m considering Catbells this summer then potentially moving up to Loch Lomond then for a week. We’ve got a couple of kayaks, hence going to the lakes and it’s always nice to share bingo calling, BBQ and a splash of something alcoholic in the evenings with good company though 😁

It will be some months until the tent comes out again but if you are on you travels in the lakes during the summer give us a nod, always willing to share other people’s BBQs and tipples 👍 but think I will be leaving the dirty gertie and the grandma getting frisky well alone.

What age are your kids? Do you usually get up to outdoorsy type stuff? I can’t wait for camping season to begin, need a break from the daily routine of work, eat, sleep …repeat 😁

5 year old. I don’t engage in mountain climbing or jumping off cliff faces 😨 but do like the odd hill walk. Son is not there yet so last handful of years just been camping at Blackpool and the likes. May venture to the lakes this year or even reach up to fynefest but early June is not ideal.

Would camp all summer if it was practical.
