    It is less than 6 months I separated and I am sure it is the best for everybody. But I do not have my family close and I do not have many friends because I live abroad. So I started to have anxiety and I think I will not manage alone. I feel quite bad sometimes and I want to feel fine to be a good mom. Any suggestion of how to feel better and how to know that all will be fine even if I am alone? Because it does not feel like things will be fine. I keep thinking who will help if I need. Not the father for sure, because he says no when I ask for help.

    Hi Lara21,
    It’s going to be ok. You can do this. The feelings of anxiety, loneliness and lost are normal. Just take each day at a time. Try not to think too far into the future or dwell too much in the past. The anxiety will likely kick into overdrive.
    Are there any friends close that you could reach out to?
    Can you contact any family? It will get easier in time, just keep on talking.

    I’m Michelle one of the Moderators here.  I’m glad to see you posting in the forum and getting some support.  It sounds like its a challenging time for you, and your feelings probably make sense to many people here.

    You’ve said that you live abroad so I’m not sure whether you’re in the UK, but if you are, there are a few services that you could talk with if you’re beginning to experience anxiety.  Your GP will be able to explore wider options with you.  Here are a couple of services that might be helpful:

    Giveusashout – https://www.giveusashout.org/  TEXT SHOUT 85258  It is a 24 hour 7 day a week 365 day a year crisis text service, delivered by Mental Health Innovations.  A team of trained volunteers support anyone in crisis (texter is phone based, volunteer on a computer), and the aim is to help the person in crisis identify coping strategies and get them from a hot place of crisis, to a cool calm place where they can safety plan.
