My husband walked out, so I have two school age children, and spent most of our marriage at home with them.

i now find myself in a horrid situation, looking for work but can only earn minimum wage as I don’t have many qualifications that would enable me to earn much more.

i would like to go to college and get an  education enabling me to provide for my family but I find that there doesn’t seem to be much help around for people in my situation!
any advice or success stories welcome! Thank you.

agree with everything above! And in addition, in terms of university level courses, student finance is available to you at least once regardless of your age. So if you find a course at a uni you are eligible/interested in, look into student finance! You’ll probably be able to get some kind of loan xx

    Hi Lissy,

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this, I went through something similar last year.  I started looking for ways to make some money online through various means, it really helped. Let me know if you’re interested knowing more about and I’ll get in touch.

    Hi,

I have had a situation where I have had to start my life again and sorted the same approach. I contacted my local college who had access to university courses and picked one. They were very helpful in helping me get an advanced learners loan and I was in very quickly and smoothly. I am currently half way through my Biomedical science access to further education course. It was the best thing I ever did.

    Hope this helps.

    Jazmine
