Just an informal post to gauge interest for a Lincoln Group?
Lainy and I have met in person (we both live in Lincoln) and we’re happy to organise meet-ups for ourselves and post information here so others can join us for a coffee, cake, natter. Want to keep it informal too 🙂
on Tuesdays/Wednesdays every month or so.
Mornings initially from 10:30-11am – Thinking of Tuesday 23rd April for first meet-up.
Central Lincoln Location – The Collection, Danes Terrace, LN2 1LP.
Geared to older parents (we’re in our 40’s) but youngsters welcome too of course!
Not sure if we need to go through the formal process of setting up a Group through the Gingerbread accreditation/DBS checks so if a moderator can advise please? As I can’t commit fully until I know more about the Gingerbread training process.
Hi I’m Lainey and I’ve had a few meet ups with Naz now. As mentioned, we thought we’d see if there would be any interest in starting up a local group in Lincoln. If you’d like to find out more then either message one of us or join us at The Collection on 23 April.
If there’s enough interest then we’re happy to go through the Gingerbread application process for starting up a new group.
Just a quick reminder that if you’re in Lincoln and fancy getting to know some new faces, then come and have a coffee with us at The Collection from 11am. There will be 3 of us for definite so look for the table with a picture of a gingerbread man on it!
Its great that you guys are setting up your own group. If you run it as a Gingerbread friendship group I can promote it to all gingerbread members in your vicinity. I am happy to go through through the procedures for becoming a volunteer coordinator because as well as being one of the moderators, I’m also the peer support officer so it is my role to coordinate the process. Let me know what you think by contacting me at @gingerbread.org.uk">firstname.lastname@example.org
