Morning, so as of last night I am single with two kids. My ex partner says he will help get me sorted and I will not need to worry but I can’t help it. I work two days a week and literally have nothing myself. How do I even begin to start again? I had a quick look at a benefits calculator but do I need to find a new home first? I’m so confused right now. 😢☹️

    Go see a solicitor.

DO NOT engage a solicitor yet. That’s a waste of money and may not even be needed. First of all, who owns the current home? When your ex says he will help you what’s he actually doing? I know the emotion side is difficult, but try to park that until you’ve got yourself sorted. You may end up staying put and he leaves. You need to know that before you need to worry about what money you need and how you’re going to get that money.
