    Hi

My child has this week been sent home from school to isolate for two weeks as someone in her year group tested positive. My ex is stating he cannot have her at his house now until this period is over as per the government guidelines even though we have a court order in place dictating the custody agreement. Please can someone clarity if this is true or can they direct me to a site that confirms if he should still be having the children.

    Many thanks

Hi Misstig,  our single parent helpline may be able to help with this. Please do call on 0808 802 0925 to speak to an adviser. Calls are free from landlines and mobiles.  The Helpline is open Monday 10-6, Tuesday 10-4, Wednesday 10-1 and 5-7 and Thursday and Friday 10-4.  I hope that helps, Carmen.

Your ex is entitled to wait 2 weeks before seeing his child again especially as school have sent your child home to isolate for 2 weeks.

Me personally as this is going to be happen very often soon if a child had tested positive i would still have contact but maybe would ask their mum if they were displaying symptoms and have them a different day say 48 hours later for example as they would be at home anyway.

It may be worth seeing as your child is off for 2 weeks that you let your ex know that your child is absolutely fine and if they would like to swap their days.So if they were due to have them this weekend perhaps they could have them during week or next weekend instead so everyones happy
