Over the past few years myself and ex partner have attended the family courts repeatedly with regards to our 3 children. The children live with me and the youngest 2 (8yo, 13yo) still visit and stay with dad with my support and some encouragement alternate weekends. The case is complex and I would like to see an end where we can settle into a regular contact schedule without unnecessary stress. This has been unsuccessful to date. The children are due to be allocated solicitors under a Rule 16.4 guardianship and I wondered what this entails. I’m concerned that interrogation by a further unknown person is going to distress the children, though I appreciate this duration within the court system is not acceptable. I would like to hear of any experience of this that you may have had. Thanks in advance
Hi Greenfingers, I’ve not been through this myself but these organisations could help.
