    Hi everyone..

Sorry for the slightly morbid subject!

So I moved out in August, I  have lived alone in a flat since my son was 2 and it was fine. I moved in with my parents last year for nearly a year and in August found a house  Perfect because it was 2 bedroom! Just before Xmas we got broken into and now my confidence is so low, I have become increasingly aware that I am the only protector in my house. The back door is still boarded up so the emotional damage hasn’t healed. I now have lights around the back and side and plenty of cctv but I’m still so nervous at home. Any tips…?? 😔

Thanks for your reply Anonymous x

My door should’ve been replaced months ago. I’ve been on and on at the housing association who I rent from .. It was excuse after excuse and unfortunately the door has to be the same to fit in with the rest of the properties.

I do want to invest in added window locks just wouldnt know where to start!!

Will. Take a look at the link. Your reply was really helpful  Thank. You xxx

Hey mamaaa, what an awful thing to go through. I also wouldn’t have a clue when it comes to buying new locks etc but I’m sure the police have a crime prevention department, and sure if you either call 101 or maybe pop into your local station they will be more than happy to filter your contact details through to the right person. So far as i’m aware then they contact you to look over the house and make suggstions on how security can be improved. The fire service run a similar service fitting smoke alarms. Pop in to the station, I’m sure they’ll be able to advise

Thanks DMP, the officer did tell me the weakest spot of my house but I will definitely contact them to get a more thorough check x
