I’m recently separated from my husband and father of my son. He moved out of the family home 5 months ago. He has no formal place to live so he is still registered here.

My son turns 3 soon which means I can apply for the 30 hours childcare however previously I couldn’t apply for the childcare vouchers as my husband is self employed and hadn’t provided anything correctly. So this will also be a problem when I apply for 30 hours however now he doesn’t live here, he doesn contribute financially to the childcare.

Has anyone got any advice on how I can handle this? The government website isn’t very helpful and i’m not sure what i can do till he has an official address and registers himself / VAT / company there.

I’m finding it really difficult and overwhelming and could also really do with the childcare hours as it’s extremely expensive to pay on my own but have no choice with having to work full time.

    Thanks

Phone the childcare place and tell them exactly what your problem is.I’m assuming you are working at least 16 hours,so you’re eligible on your own ,without him…? Hopefully. If not It’s a pickle.Either way it’s probably a good idea to call them and explain.
