    Hi,

My marriage is over and we had a joint mortgage. We have lived in the house for 18 months. I want to keep the house for me and my son to live in and have been paying the mortgage for 2 months on my own now so I can afford it.

    • How do I go about owning the house on my own?
    • Do I re-mortgage and how do I do that?
    • How will I know if the mortgage lender will let me, and if they don’t will I have to sell?
    • To buy my ex-husband out, how do I work out how much that will be?

Any advice would be very appreciated!

    Thanks.

Thank you for posting on our forum.  Our website has some information around separation and mortgages. Here is the link:

To explore further options you can always call our single parent helpline.  They are very busy, so please expect to wait up to 20 minutes for your call to be answered.  The call number is freephone.  Here is the link and I hope that helps, Justine.

    Hope that helps, Justine
