Recently separated from someone I thought I was going to be with forever, clearly just a dream

We’d been trying for a baby for a year, finally pregnant now he doesn’t want to know. Has moved out, says the baby cant be is, wants nothing to do with me or the baby.

My question is I’m totally daunted by the support I could get. I never saw myself as a single mum and although i work full time i know i can’t afford having a baby on my own without any support from the father.

I dont have any family close by and I’m scared.

Is anyone else in this situation or has been? Will I be ok doing this on my own?

    Any advice would be helpful

yes you will be okay on your own. I know this having been in your place. It may seem scary and you may wonder how you will do it all, but my advice is that everything will fall into place.

Try not to be too hard on yourself over this. There are lots of wonderful single mums out there and I’m sure you will be no exception. Stay strong.

    Hey Wagstaf

I’m in exactly the same situation..

currently on maternity leave, its just me here family live far away.

I’m not quite sure how I’m going to get by from October (my flatmate also gave notice so I need a new one asap), but I have rung the council and they did say I will get some help whilst on leave.

there is quite a bit of support available with benefits, when u return to work with childcare.

have u seen the sure start maternity grant?  That’s £500 one off too.

It’s hard but there is options..don’t give up.
