My 4 month old baby’s father lives three hours drive from us. We are in the process of agreeing regular visitation. Him coming to my house is not an option.
Is anyone else in a similar situation and what arrangements do you or did you have in your place.

He’s also mentioned that CSA will allow ’special expenses’ to travel to us to see the baby and that would include hotel costs. If hotel costs are going to be deducted, I’ll be screwed because I have to pay for nursery when I go back to work.
Any advice would be helpful – thanks

CSA wont allow expenses in his case and it certainly isnt special expenses.  Where your baby is only 4 months old he could stay local to yourself in a hotel /b and b and dad  has baby there.

It could be he has baby 4-6 hours then leading to an overnight stay perhaps at hotel once a week if he is able to do it.

Whatever you decide to do , its great u are allowing dad some contact .

I am guessing it maybe a while before dad has his child overnight for more than 1 night due to age

    Thanks for the reply @warwickshire1.

Things did start to get heated between us but we’ve agreed on a parental plan which is an agreement that will be legally binding. I hope it’s going to work. We are not getting on personally and I originally told him to go to court to arrange visitation because he’s so unreliable and can’t stick to his word. Now he’s decided he will visit our child every fortnight either a Saturday or Sunday or once a month over the 2 days at the weekend. All I want is for our child to have structure and routine and not be messed about. If he has his father in his life, it’s a good thing (only if he’s going to be responsible and reliable though).

It’s a tough one, never thought it would come to this – it’s stressful 🙁

Sounds good . You can if u choose go to family court and get the above written up as an order if u choose to.  Hopefully he sticks to agreement and there is no need to go down the legal route :). Where child is so young he has got a very fair arrangement to be honest. glad u reached agreement

@wareickshire1 you know you said csa won’t pay his expenses, is this from experience. I looked online, it says something about deductions for expenses to make contact with the child so would fuel not be taken into account.

I know it probably sounds petty on my part but nursery fees are through the roof and I need all the CSA money that I can get.

fuel would be taken into account as special expense if his fuel cost is £10 a week or more. but the discount he will get is nothing. prob £10 discount per month.
