We know that peer support is really important for many single parents – providing connection, helping with isolation and loneliness, and getting support during the ups and downs from a like-minded community. That’s why we’re committed to making our 24/7 online forum more accessible to all single parents.
After research with forum users, consultation with other charities and a safeguarding review, we will be testing an ‘open’ online forum. This means the public can read posts and they may appear on internet searches. It’s something that lots of online communities do to increase access and impact of their forums.
We hope this will mean:
Increased traffic and engagement
Increased profile of the service
Facilitating more parents to access online peer support and read other parent’s stories, tips and views
With the forum opening to public view, we’re asking all forum users to take some steps to check they’re happy with the level of privacy in their profile and posts. You’re welcome to review and change prior post content and ensure your profile photos and usernames are anonymous.
This is a new approach for Gingerbread’s forum and we welcome your feedback during the period of the trial firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0207 428 5424
So, what isn’t changing?
Remember, if you are worried about anything or spot something you don’t think is right, you can contact us on email@example.com or on 0207 428 5424
A big thank you for your co-operation and support. Happy chatting!
