Im on my own, my other half is in prison for something stupid he did, i have been alone since my daughter was 9days old shes now 20months and I have a son he is 13. Im currently suffering with severe lower back pain due to disc problems from a car accident last year, i struggle to do the most mundane things with my daughter i have no one to ask for help as my mother my rock died in 2016 and there is litterally no one else,  ive not had a break from the baby at all and my doctors is saying i need to rest my back which i obviously cant. They have indicated that i may need an operation. Does anyone know who i could turn to ask for help an organisation if/when i may need hospital treatment? i had to take my child to a lletz procedure for cin3 a few months ago which was terrible and im not sure how i will be able to manage a hospital stay or recovery with my daughter.

Try speaking to a case worker at the childrens centre of your council for advice .  Take care

It’s not easy but try and ask your son to help so you can rest your back  . My daughter spilt her drink and I slipped on it andhurt myself . It took weeks before i felt better .

Where do you live? I’m in a rural area and there is a village support group for exactly those sorts of emergencies. Listed in the parish mag, they are volunteers with lots of contacts, who provide a bit of backup when needed.

Or try the children’s centre or talk to the practice manager at your GP. You aren’t the only one with no family support.  Have you asked your son for suggestions? 13yos can be very resourceful and he may have some ideas.
