Hi Im hoping someone else has been in this situation, and can advise?

My little boy just turned 2 and he was ready to go to nursery so i got a job to pay for it , when lockdown came again the job was on hold until it can reopen  but my little boys fees are 5oo a month for the 2 days a week he goes, i am on universal credit and hadnt worked since he was born .

His dad is brilliant financially , he pays what we agreed , is never late , spoils my son with clothes etc so im not wanting to ask him for more money as he also has lots going on at the moment.

He is happy to use his tax code to get money of the nursery bill but it says they have to be living with the child? Does anyone know what other hel  p there may be ?

I was going to go back to the job i had just started but i can’t hold on much longer, I know if I work I will get 85% child care back but finding  job at the moment isn’t easy.

    Anyway i’m rambling !

    Hi Alipally

I’m Michelle one of the Moderators here in the forum.  There’s some information here in the site around childcare that might help.  Here a link to the Gingerbread information pages:

The Gingerbread Single Parent Helpline are also knowledgeable in this area.  Here are the contact details:

    I hope that helps

    Kind regards
