    Hi, just after some advice

my daughters father currently lives on a boat, on a residential mooring but soon has to move off and in planning on buying a caravan and moving on to a non-official site. (I.e. somewhere they could be evicted from)

doesn’t sound great to me, and to make things worse I know of some of the people on the site, and don’t think it’s a suitable place for my daughter to spend the weekends.

Has anyone had any experience of a non-resident parent having unsuitable living situation for overnight visits… where do I stand with this? I would not stop him seeing our daughter, but I am very uncomfortable about it being the right situation for overnight visits. Any advice really welcome!

    hi,

if caravan has enough space for child to sleep, then I think it should be ok. I came across one mans story, he lives in a van! he had to fight it out in court and they let child spend weekends with him and stay in the van.

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply. It’s not the caravan I have issues with (well, depending on the state of it – warmth and dry in the winter etc)

it’s the where it would be (on an illegal site) and with who, and potential for issues with the police etc

I also worry the people there would be negative influence on him, in the past telling me he had issues with substance abuse etc
